Well, according to research from the Global Sustainability Institute, Anglia Ruskin University, the state New Zealand called the most resilient in the face of future threats. The next safest locations are Iceland, England, the island of Tasmania in Australia and Ireland.
To survive a global catastrophe or for example a riot, being surrounded by water is a huge advantage. These locations can be safe from the potential for mass migration from other countries affected by the disaster.
New Zealand has long been considered a good haven, a developed country and a remote location. In this study, researchers used several criteria to determine the safest place, in addition to the protected location factor.

“We analyzed the top 20 countries on the Notre Dame Global Adaptation Index list. We considered factors related to the ability to survive a collapse, if it did occur,” said Professor Aled Jones, one of the researchers.
The top five rankings are seen as being able to maintain social, technological and organizational levels despite a global catastrophe. Then the weather conditions are relatively stable to withstand the effects of climate change.
New Zealand is ranked at the top because it has the best ability to produce geothermal and hydroelectric energy. Then the agricultural land is abundant and the population is still low.
