What is your target this year?

Just like any other racer, I want to be world champion. Currently the opportunity is still very open. I will try my best to achieve my goals.

Ducati is a competitive motorcycle now, what’s the secret?

The secret is years of hard work from all the technicians and racers. I’ve been at Ducati for 5 years and I’m very, very busy at work.

Your contract at Ducati will expire this year, what would you like to say?

Same as previous years. I’ve been here for 5 or 6 years and every year my contract is always one year long. It became a normal thing for me. I’m still waiting if there is news in the email.

What do you think about the Mandalika Circuit?

Fantastic. The design is very pleasing compared to other tracks, very refreshing. The view is beautiful for the circuit in Lombok. The track is still in the early stages, we already feel it in the tests [Februari]. I commend their whole work from the test till now. I am very happy to be racing here.

[Sebelum balapan] I had time to run around the circuit, it was very clean. They did a great job re-paving the track. It’s a very different situation compared to the test.
