Dortmund announced the transfer of Thomas Meunier last week. He comes over from PSG transfer-free and although he previously refused a two-month contract extension with the French club, according to Watzke, Meunier is now considering finishing the season with PSG. That way, the Ardennes can still play for the French club in the final tournament of the Champions League.
Watzke indicated that he wouldn’t make a problem should Meunier decide to play those games. “If he wants, he can return to Paris for a while. We must of course then speak to PSG about the conditions of a contract extension for two months. But we are certainly open to the idea. The Champions League is the most prestigious tournament in the world and it is enough to win three more games to win the cup. We do not want to take that opportunity away from him. It is completely understandable that he wants to give everything for the club where he had a good time, ”it sounds.

That way, Meunier would miss part of the preparation at his new club, but that should not be a problem for Watzke: “Thomas was able to rest well during the corona stop.
