Ivana Gottová’s mother: How did she react to the relationship between her daughter and the famous singer?

When nurse Ivana Macháčková and our best singer Karel Gott started dating, no one attached importance to it. Most people, including the artist’s friends, thought it was just one of the other notches on the Golden Nightingale’s stock. This was not the case and Ivana was the first and only woman to get the most famous old young man from the Czech Republic to the altar. But what did her mother think of a relationship with a man so older?

When Ivan’s young sister began dating the divine Kaja, no one believed it would last for the next twenty years. And who knows how long the relationship would have continued if the singer hadn’t died of cancer. Age was not a problem for Karel and Ivana. All these years they made love as in the beginning and the family was holy for them.

It was never rumored that a young and beautiful woman was cheating on him, and even the singer and renowned skirter calmed down by her side. Not to mention, Ivana was the only woman who managed to get Gott in front of the altar and still give birth to two beautiful and talented daughters, of whom our leading artist was duly proud until the last days.

But their relationship was not always shrouded in harmony. The beginnings were especially difficult when no one believed in them. Not even Ivana’s parents. Especially mom. Ivana was so afraid of her opinion that she was not able to tell her face to face about the relationship.

Difficult beginnings of a relationship

“I preferred to tell my mother on the phone then. So I didn’t see her reaction face to face, but it was clear that she was very surprised. She said something like I was kidding her,” Gott told Magazine Today.

Ivana was only twenty-four at the time, and her mother would certainly have liked someone younger for her. In addition, she knew that Charles was not the pinnacle of virtue and that he usually did not have only one wife. At one time, Mrs. Macháčková even stayed at Bertramka with her couple to take care of everything and possibly protect her daughter. Eventually, however, she moved out and left Karl a free field of activity.

Ivana and Karel met a year earlier, when the production and assistant of Hollywood stars was only 23 years old. But they didn’t start dating until a year later, because until then the singer had been assigned with his great love, Marika Sörös.

Falling in love came gradually

“From the beginning we were friends, our relationship developed and the love came gradually, which I had never known before,” she told pro pluska.sk.

The first child, Charlotte’s daughter, came in 2006 and it was clear that Ivana would not disappear from Gott’s life. Even this fact forced Karl to settle down and start living a family life. They finally got married in 2008 in Las Vegas, and Nella was born that year.

When Karel learned that he had cancer, it was Ivana who kept him in shape and made sure that he followed the doctors’ instructions. She rode with him from examination to examination and certainly extended her life by some approach that Friday. She was his great support until the last moment, for which she deserves a big thank you.
