Why Bulgarians do not want to be vaccinated – a team of the Italian television “Sky tg 24” arrived in Bulgaria to look for the answer, BNT reported.

Over 80% of the population in Italy is vaccinated. Although during the first wave Italy became one of the sharpest examples of a health catastrophe in Europe and the world – in the last 7 days there have died 5 people per 1 million population. For comparison, in the statistics of Bulgaria against these 5 there are 151 deaths per million. We are second in the world in mortality from the disease after Romania.

The TV crew has toured many countries. And nowhere was it like here.

“Not in Europe. People are vaccinated there, and only 20 percent are vaccinated here. The question is why,” asked George De Bennett, a reporter for Sky tg 24.

He wants to hear how we explain it to himself and says it’s pretty weird. George is trying to be tactful. It tells the story of Bergamo, the silence of the streets emptied of people, and the rushing sound of passing ambulances.

“I saw what was happening there with my own eyes, I talked to the families of the victims. We were all affected by this tragedy. In my country, people were really scared of COVID-19. They realized it was a big problem, so many people died. And vaccination is the only solution to keep going, “said George De Bennett.

Fear of the virus left no room for hesitation in their society about whether to get vaccinated. They just did it.
