Al-Arabiya quoted the Moroccan newspaper, Hespress, as saying that the news circulated about the situation of the artist Saad Lamjarred was “fabricated and untrue”, denouncing such behavior, especially in light of the critical circumstances that Lamjarred is going through, without taking into account the psychological state of his family and those close to him.
The source added, “Saad’s health condition is just good, and he faces his destiny with strong faith and trust in God, clinging to his innocence of what was attributed to him and looking forward to his justice in the appeal stage through which he will continue his judicial battle.”
And sources close to the Moroccan star had revealed, in statements to local newspapers, that Lamjarred was in the “Lasante” prison in Paris, in solitary confinement, and this prison is located in the east of Montparnasse in France. Although he is in a solitary cell, he is allowed daily walks among other inmates, according to those close to him.
They also talked about his morale and psychological state, and one of them said: “Saad has not weakened since the verdict was pronounced. Rather, he maintained his spirits, and spends his days in prayer and reading the Qur’an. He is convinced of his innocence, so he is awaiting the appeal stage.”
The newspapers quoted the source as saying that Saad Lamjarred does not benefit from any special treatment, but rather enjoys all the rights granted to him by French law as a prisoner, including heating and television.
Local newspapers indicated that Saad speaks to his wife and lawyer every day and they visit him regularly.
