VIVA World – Iran’s Intelligence Ministry says its forces have identified a large number of spies linked to Israel’s Mossad spy agency in 28 countries around the world.
In a statement last January, the ministry announced what it described as the “largest joint intelligence and counter-intelligence operation” against the Israeli regime’s espionage and security organizations.
The statement underlined that the “adventurous” operation was carried out in the form of a series of intelligence-counterintelligence, offensive-defensive actions, and through the use of various intelligence gathering methods, resulting in “unique” and “unprecedented” results.

“In addition to intelligence and security findings, obtaining specific information regarding some of the most important secret military facilities, weapons factories and strategic civilian industries of the Zionist regime that seized them is also one of the achievements of a large and multi-stage operation,” the ministry said, as reported by Antara. Iran’s Intelligence Ministry emphasized that in the joint project they succeeded in finding “dozens of spies and terrorist elements” affiliated with the Israeli regime in 28 countries around the world and on the three continents of Asia, Africa and Europe.
Without naming the countries involved in the operation, the statement said, “A number of spies in Tehran and several provinces in the country have been identified and dealt with legally or kept under security surveillance. Also, several Iranian spies living abroad have been identified.”
Iran’s Intelligence Ministry said details of foreign spies active in countries with ties to the Islamic Republic will be provided to the respective intelligence agencies for appropriate action.
Referring to the background and records of the identified spies, the statement said some of them “voluntarily” collaborated with the Mossad and committed treason against their country, and added that the Israeli agency “forced” them to carry out various dangerous operations contrary to interests of their respective countries.
The ministry also underlined that the Israeli regime utilized various methods and abused social media platforms as well as immigration and job search sites to identify and communicate with victims.
The statement said the investigation and obtaining further information regarding the spy would continue.
On Monday last week, four people convicted of working for an Israeli spy agency and planning a bomb attack in Isfahan province in central Iran were executed in Iran.

In December last year, four key members of a Mossad-affiliated sabotage team were also executed in Iran’s northwestern province of West Azarbaijan after being found guilty of acts that violated state security.
Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has over the past few years thwarted a number of terrorist attacks carried out by the Mossad and its affiliated henchmen against the country, as well as arrested and tried many terrorist members associated with Daesh and separatist groups.
