In soccer, there was a transfer record worldwide last year. In the men’s area, player changes in the amount of 8.14 billion euros were processed. The total rose by 5.8 percent compared to the previous year. This was announced by the FIFA World Association in its annual report on Wednesday.
Accordingly, 18,042 transfers were processed internationally – also a record. 15,463 players from 178 nations were affected. However, the 8.14 billion euros were distributed over only 14.9 percent of international transfers, with the other 85.1 percent no transfer fee was due.
The trend in women’s football also showed an upward trend of 19.7 percent in international transfers. Almost 20 percent of the changes involved players from the United States.
