People behind the Instagram account ‘realityfbi’ discovered that Coldeweijer’s jewelry was also for sale at the AliExpress online store. That led to a lot of commotion. In a new video, the actress and YouTuber from Kaatsheuvel responds extensively to this.

In a twenty-minute YouTube video, Coldeweijer explains that she first gets inspiration for new jewelry, then draws a design herself on an A4 sheet – the drawing itself is very ugly, she says about this – and that a technical drawing is then made by a freelancer. It goes to the factory, where a sample is rolled out and then Yvonne decides whether she thinks the design is good enough to sell in her webshop.

But how is it possible that, for example, her star and moon earrings look exactly the same as those found on AliExpress? “Of course you have earrings with stars or moons everywhere. That is not an invention that you should apply for a patent for. But all my jewelry is designed by me personally.
