Olympic tennis is entering its crucial phase this Thursday (from 8 a.m. in Belgium), especially on the women’s side, since we are already in the semi-finals phase. They are therefore four to compete for the three coveted charms, and the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (6th world) at the same time as the Swiss Belinda Bencic (12th) logically start favorites against, respectively, the Czech Marketa Vondrousova (42nd) and the Kazakhe Elena Rybakina (20th).
But if tennis, especially on the female side, was played on paper, it would be known! Tokyo has not come to deny the adage of recent months meaning that, on the WTA circuit, it is not really good to be in the “right papers”.
