Model Haseen Jahan and Shami met for the first time in 2011. Haseen was a cheergirl for Kolkata Knight Riders at this time. Later the two fell in love and got married in 2014. However, in 2018, Haseen filed a police complaint against Shami with complaints including domestic violence. They also raised allegations of trespassing and betting.
On March 8, 2018, Haseen Jahan filed a complaint against Shami at the Jadavpur police station. Later, a case was filed against the actor on charges of harassment for asking for dowry and violence against women. Alipore Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of South 24 Parganas issued an arrest warrant against Shami. Later, the actor approached the Sessions Court and sought a stay on the warrant.
Earlier this year, the Alipore court ordered Hasin Jahan to pay Shami Rs 50,000 per month. In May, Hasin Jahan approached the Supreme Court seeking lifting of the stay on Shami’s arrest. Hasin Jahan also raised the complaint that Shami was having affairs with other women when he was away for series with the Indian cricket team.
Mohammad Shami last played in the World Test Championship final against Australia in June this year. He did not play in the series against West Indies and Ireland. Shami was allowed rest by BCCI for important tournaments. The player was in brilliant form in the last IPL.
