Increasingly intense, fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenia continued

KONTAN.CO.ID – BAKU / YEREVAN. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense reported on Wednesday (30/9), fierce fighting in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone between Azervaijan and Armenian forces continued.

“With the aim of reclaiming its territory, the Armenian side concentrated its additional troops on Magadizsky and on the morning of 30 September made an attempt to launch an attack,” Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry said in a statement as reported by the news agency. TASS.

“The enemy’s steps were successfully thwarted, the Azerbaijani troops carried out a counter-attack operation to break the enemy resistance,” said the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry. “Currently, military operations are taking place along the front lines”.

Azerbaijan’s attorney general said 12 civilians were killed and 35 injured in the Armenian offensive since the conflict erupted in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone last weekend.

“To date, as a result of shelling attacks carried out by Armenian forces using heavy weapons and targeting a densely populated civilian area, 12 civilians have been killed and 35 injured,” Azerbaijan’s Attorney General said in a statement quoted. TASS.

According to the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, 66 houses and 8 public facilities were destroyed.

Meanwhile, Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Shushan Stepanyan said in a post on Facebook on Wednesday (30/9) that artillery involvement continued along the front line in Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Artillery engagement continues along the front line in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) at this time. Artsakh Air Defense Unit shot down two enemy drones over Stepanakert,” he said as quoted by Antara. TASS report.
