increases by 1,000 euros a year, the consequences of the price rush

The price rush of the gas makes le still wheelie bills Italians. After the sharp increases recorded in the last two quarters, tomorrow evening the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment (Arera) will announce the updating of tariffs for the next quarter. «Given the increases in progress, in the absence of interventions by the government we would have a 61% increase for gas; for electricity by 45%, with an overall cost on an annual basis in 2022 of 1,200 euros more per family. With the interventions announced for now (3.8 billion) plus the repetition of what was done before (5 billion), the increase will be 40% for gas and 28% for electricity with an additional cost of 770 euros. family “, predicts the president of Nomisma Energia, Davide Tabarelli, made taking into account an average annual consumption of 1,400 cubic meters of gas and 2,700 kilowatt hours of electricity. The president of the authority Stefano Besseghini hypothesized a slightly lower increase of 50% before Christmas light and 40% for gas. Increases that are added to the + 30% and + 10% recorded in the last two quarterly reviews for electricity and + 14% and + 15% for methane. Meanwhile, last week the GME, the company that manages the electricity market, recorded an average purchase price of light (Pun) equal to 338.55 euros MWh, + 5.1% on the previous week.

Payment in installments – The government has allocated in the Budget law that a package of about 3.8 billion, to which another billion is added to allow for one payment by installments to families in difficulty. But the parties are already pressing the executive for new interventions. “Within the week, proposals will arrive from the government to get out of this emergency,” said the secretary of the League Matteo Salvini. But in the immediate future it seems difficult that new measures can be adopted in addition to those included in the maneuver. Other measures in any case take time to fine-tune. The idea could be to sterilize the system burdens, the improper costs that weigh on the electricity bills, which, however, have already been partially reduced, but the resources must be found. “There are the big energy producers and sellers who are making fantastic profits. They will have to participate in supporting the rest of the economy: they too must help families, “said the premier Mario Draghi indicating a way for a possible intervention.
Meanwhile, while waiting for new support, help is arriving for businesses. The Minister of Ecological Transition, Roberto Cingolani, signed the decree on the so-called “gas-consuming charges”. The provision, which has been in progress for some time, comes at the height of the price crisis and from next April will redetermine the fees that cover the general system charges applied to energy-intensive companies, those that consume large quantities of gas.
