In the new year, the minimum wage for work goes up

The minimum wage in the coming year will increase to the level PLN 3010. It’s more by PLN 210 from the current minimum wage, which means an increase by 7,5 proc. This means that in 2022 the minimum wage for work will be 50,8 proc. average wage in the national economy.

The hourly rate linked to the minimum wage has been set at PLN 19.70, i.e. an increase compared to 2021 by PLN 1.40.

It will raise the minimum wage, it is a consistent action of the government to improve the situation of the lowest earners. In 2022, the minimum wage will be higher by PLN 1,260 compared to 2015

– It is extremely important to take measures to improve the financial situation of households, especially among the lowest earners. This group of employees should be particularly protected at the present time, when we are still struggling with the effects of the pandemic – says Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy, quoted in the ministry’s press release.

2021 stable on the labor market

In the global economy, 2021 was the time of mitigating the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Almost two years after its outbreak, it can be seen that our economy and labor market have proved to be more resilient than many other countries in the European Union. The situation on the labor market is stable, says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The stability of the Polish labor market is confirmed by the latest Eurostat data on the unemployment rate. They show that with the rate at the level of 3.4 percent. we are one of the countries with the lowest unemployment rate in the European Union Only the Czechs, the Dutch and the Germans fare better than us. Unemployment in Poland is much lower than the EU average (6.7%) and the average for the euro area countries (7.3%). This tendency has been going on for several months.

The forecasts of the European Commission are also optimistic for us. According to the European Commission, Polish GDP will increase by 4.8% in real terms this year. Next year, the economy will see a jump of 5.2 percent
