In the United States, the city of New York has just acquired a new park called “Little Island”, which has attracted many walkers since its opening. The opportunity for residents to take advantage of the deconfinement after months of confinement linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A breath of freedom reigns at New York. Unmasked, New Yorkers discover under a sunny sky “Little Island” (“small island” in French), the city’s brand new park.
The public garden is aptly named: it is located above the Hudson River and is installed on 138 giant concrete tulips, each of which offers a different panorama of the city.
With more than 30,000 deaths, New York is the most bereaved city in the United States by the Covid-19 pandemic. At a time when New York is deconfining, the opening of the park is therefore a symbol.
