On Thursday, August 13, officials of the Criminal Police Bureau of the Zemgale Regional Office (ZRP) of the State Police (VP) were detained on suspicion that a woman had been seriously injured in a gun with a pneumatic weapon in Jelgava, August 9 this year. two men. The next day they were remanded in custody.
On the night of August 8 to 9 in Jelgava, Ganību Street, a woman was seriously injured as a result of a shot from a pneumatic weapon. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the said offense by the police pursuant to Section 125, Paragraph two, Clause 3 of the Criminal Law, and during a set of search measures, VP ZRP officials removed the pneumatic rifle and ammunition during an authorized search on 13 August. On the same day, the police detained two men, who on August 14 were sentenced by the Zemgale District Court to arrest.
The investigation revealed that one of the detained men, who is currently in custody, had been shot from a pneumatic weapon. The other man is released from custody. The investigation is ongoing.
