The employee of the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP), Tiffany de los Santos Montero, who on Friday morning was injured in an accident that left five dead, was transferred to the Plaza de la Salud in a helicopter-ambulance, to continue receiving medical attention.
The information was offered by the Traumatology and Surgical Hospital Professor Juan Bosch, of La Vega, Dr. Andrés Rodríguez Céspedes, who informed that the measure was adopted by provision of Chanel Rosa Chupany, director of the National Health Service (SNS).
De los Santos, 28, was injured with multiple injuries after the vehicle in which he was traveling with two co-workers, who died in the event, was hit by a yipeta on the Duarte highway, at the height from Bonao.
His deceased colleagues were identified as Francisco Antonio Montilla Patrocino, 49, and Maira Altagracia Minaya Rodríguez, who was 62 years old. Montilla Patrocino had been working at the institution for six years and Minaya had been working since last October. The three people who were moving in the other vehicle also died.
Rodríguez Céspedes said it was recommended that the helicopter that moved the girl fly at a safe height, to avoid further bleeding. He explained that one of the Santos Montero had a CT scan, which only revealed a small hemorrhage, not surgical at that time.
He has severe trauma to the skull and several lacerations in his body, a trauma to the facial and inner level of the lip, but his condition was stable.
“At the level of the chest and abdomen, he did not suffer significant damage, which is very good, because if he had discovered a lung hemorrhage, that would have complicated the case,” said the specialist. A team of specialized doctors traveled with the patient.
