Due to bad weather, an invasion of scorpions is observed in the southern Egyptian city of Aswan. Three people died from their bites, hundreds were injured, reported on Saturday 13 November, British Air Force service citing the Egyptian Ministry of Health.
It is noted that on Friday, the region was covered with a downpour, thunderstorm and hail. As a result, scorpions were brought to the streets of the city from the mountains and deserts.
So far, it is known about three dead and about 450 victims, who were stung by arachnids, but they survived.
According to the Ministry of Health, additional doses of the antidote have already been sent to medical centers in villages and cities of the region. They are not in a hurry to massively vaccinate the population against scorpion venom in order to preserve an antidote for severe cases.
