Glen de Vries, a 49-year-old entrepreneur, who took part in the space trip aboard the company-designed spacecraft Blue Origin billionaire Jeff Bezos, died in a plane crash. According to information from the police of New Jersey, the drama took place on the afternoon of Thursday, November 11, 2021.
Blue Origin “devastated”
The man was on board a small passenger plane which crashed near New York, more precisely in the county of Sussex. Still according to the police, an investigation was opened and entrusted to the American federal regulator of civil aviation (FAA). After hearing the news, the company Blue Origin expressed his sadness on Twitter. The company of Jeff Bezos showed “Devastated by the sudden death of Glen de Vries (who) brought so much energy and life to the entire Blue Origin team and his teammates”. Note that the deceased died with another American, Thomas P. Fisher. Furthermore, Glen de Vries was the co-founder of a company specializing in clinical trial monitoring software for the pharmaceutical industry, called Medidata.
As a reminder, Glen de Vries had participated in the space trip, last October 13, 2021, with three other people, among which were, the actor of the film Star Trek William Shatner.
