“The police in Myrnograd received a report from a local resident that two dogs attacked him and his relative on the street. Police found that the Cane Corso dogs, belonging to a 54-year-old resident, had injured two men. the applicant is injured, and the younger victim died on the spot, “the message says.
Law enforcers noted that the deceased was 34 years old.
“The owner of the animals explained that he uses the dogs to guard the house. At night they are left in the yard of the household not tied, the animals do not have free access outside the yard, since it is fenced off. How the dogs ended up on the street, the owner cannot explain,” told the police.
Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 1 of Art. 119 (murder by negligence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This is a preliminary qualification, the department stressed.
“The dogs are in the enclosure at their place of detention under the supervision of a veterinarian,” the police said.
Cane Corso is an Italian breed of dog, the ancestors of which are considered to be fighting dogs, which were used in gladiator battles. They grow up to almost 70 cm in height and weigh up to 50 kg.
