Placed in police custody on Tuesday at the Nîmes police station, a 34-year-old man is to be tried on Thursday for having torn off a piece of ear from another man during a sexual relationship.
The facts seem to date back to December 23, 2021, the day before or a few days before this date. In Nîmes (Gard), several men would have participated in a “delirium” which involved drugs and at least one sexual relationship. On December 23, one of these participants had decided to file a complaint, reports Objective Gard. This man had thus discovered that a piece of one of his ears had been torn off.
Piece of ear torn off during sex: the victim since operated
After the observation of his injury, the victim was evacuated to the hospital and then operated. Authorities have since identified the person who allegedly caused the infirmity. On Tuesday, this suspect was taken into custody at the premises of the Nîmes police station. The departmental security of Nîmes, in charge of the investigation, questioned this man. Like any explanation, the latter would have delivered the hypothesis of an accident.
A defendant already convicted three times for similar facts
On the side of the prosecution, the version of the respondent does not appear credible, hence the request for provisional detention of this 34-year-old man. The latter is now being prosecuted for “violence resulting in permanent disability”. It was on the morning of this Thursday that he was to go to trial in the context of an immediate appearance. We are also told that the suspect acted as a repeat offender, having already been convicted no less than three times for similar acts. Le Midi Libre writes that the victim had to she too will be heard by the investigators after not being able to travel for a confrontation.
