The Spaniard Joaquín de Luz, director of the National Dance Company (CND) and principal dancer of the New York Ballet for 13 years until 2018, was reunited with New York today to present the ballet “Carmen” inspired by Bizet’s opera and with choreography of the Swedish Johan Inger.
The audience at the Joyce Theater in the Chelsea neighborhood generously applauded the performance of the CND dancers, who performed today the first of the six performances with which they will participate in the New York presentation of a work that counts among the most successful of the company after seven years after its premiere in 2015, even before the arrival of De Luz.
