JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – President Joko Widodo said he would not hesitate to issue government regulations to replace the law ( Perppu) to make it easier for their ministers to realize their programs in the future crisis due to a pandemic Covid-19.
Jokowi even willing to risk his political reputation if he had to issue perppu again in the pandemic.
This was revealed in a video that aired on the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat on Sunday (6/28/2020).

The video is a recording of the opening of the plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta on June 18 last.
“If I want to ask for another Perppu, I will make a Perppu, if the existing ones are not enough,” Jokowi said.
“Originally for the people, origin for the country, I bet my political reputation,” said the Head of State.
Jokowi asked his ministers to realize that they are currently in a time of crisis.
Crisis which occurred not only because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but also its impact on the country’s economy.

As such, he expects his ministers to stop working normally. He wants his ministers to work quickly.
“Our policy, the atmosphere must be an atmosphere of crisis. Do not mediocre policy consider this a normality. What is this?” said Jokowi.
“There should be everything in that atmosphere. Do not use standard things in a crisis atmosphere,” he said.
He even reiterated that various steps were ready to be taken, including releasing policies in the form of Perppu or Perpres.
“If I need a Perppu policy, I will issue a Perppu. If necessary, I will issue a Perpres. If there is a PMK, remove it. To handle the country, our responsibility is to 267 million of our people,” he said.
