The Panavia Tornado is a two-seat variable-sweep wing combat jet aircraft developed in the early 1970s by the German firm Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm. The aircraft is one of the main NATO combat vehicles; it exists in fighter-bomber (Tornado IDS), interceptor (Tornado ADV), reconnaissance (Tornado ECR) modifications.
Melnyk’s statement was made a few days before the next meeting of the contact group on providing defense assistance to Ukraine in the Ramstein format – expected to take place on January 20.
