The pandemic has made solidarity wills, inheritances to NGOs, foundations or research projects, increase. At laSexta we spoke with Pepa, who managed to overcome breast cancer and who wanted to thank those who helped her save her life by donating part of her inheritance.
“I had to express my gratitude to the doctors and researchers who made it possible, “he tells us. In Spain 1,026 solidarity wills were made in 2020, donations with which it has been possible to invest in research such as ‘CRIS against cancer’.
“In 2020 we received three bequests worth 150,000 euros, which for us have been very important because it has allowed us to hire three more researchers “, tells us Marta Cardona, director of ‘CRIS against cancer’.
But everything that is donated, be it money or goods, such as a flat, for example, can have many other purposes. This is an upward trend if we compare it with 2010, for example, when they were carried out 655.
A decision that many have made in the midst of the crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic. A gesture that, no matter how small it may seem, say those who have already done it, turns into great satisfaction.
