María Luisa Maroto, director of Health of the Sub-delegation of the Government of Spain in Almería, has pointed out which are the destinations chosen by those who come these months to the International Vaccination Center of Almería.
What predominates the most is, without a doubt, Southeast Asia. The most chosen destinations are Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
From Latin America, the places that Almeria people travel the most are Colombia and Brazil. In order of care, then there are people who come to Almería for work and who return to sub-Saharan Africa, specifically Mali, Senegal or Guinea-Bissau.
From the International Vaccination Center of Almería they have also explained that this year, as a novelty, they have the vaccine against dengue, “highly anticipated since there are 129 affected countries.” “Half the world’s population is at risk from this viral infection that is transmitted from mosquitoes to people. The dengue vaccine is 81% effective, with the application schedule being two doses separated by three months,” they added.
Likewise, this year, trips to Mecca, the holiest city of Islam, which had been suspended due to the pandemic, have been recovered, with these pilgrims being attended to in Almería throughout the month of June. One of the requirements for entry to Saudi Arabia is the quadrivalent meningitis vaccine.
