Ennio Morricone died Monday night at a Roman clinic as a result of a fall. He was 91 years old. The composer, who accompanied more than 500 films and series with his melodies, was remembered by artists and politicians from all over the world.

The orchestra and Morricon participated in the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s film Eight Terrible. The soundtrack was recorded in the summer of 2015 in Prague in the composer’s presence. Morricone received his second Oscar a year later for his music for the film. He received the first one in 2007, for his life’s work.

Morricone was probably most famous for the legendary film Then in the West. Morricone also remembered the Czech audience thanks to the music for the Octopus and Marco Polo series. He visited the Czech Republic many times, the last time he was in Prague last January, when he commemorated his 90th birthday with a concert at the O2 Arena.
