On Monday, just like on Sunday, only the number of confirmed infections is updated. The following epidemiological report with the number of deaths and hospitalizations will be published on Tuesday. In the past 14 days, there were 10.5 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. There are 62,016 confirmed cases in our country, 83 infections were added in 24 hours.
Sciensano now publishes the ‘weekly average’ of the figures, the average number of new confirmed cases over a seven-day period. By taking the average, the normal fluctuations (such as the weekend effect, when testing less) don’t cloud the trend.
