How will Mitrofanova react if every major television station invites her, journalists in Sveti Vlas discussed

Boyko Vassilev

Leading journalists and media experts took part in a discussion on “How we cover the war in Ukraine”, which took place in the resort of Sveti Vlas. The meeting precedes the only annual award in our country for television journalism “Saint Vlas”. Is there a second point of view on a war, is it necessary, should it be sought, and what would be the reaction of each of the major televisions at the moment if it invites Eleonora Mitrofanova to an interview. These were some of the topics in the discussion, BTA reported.

TV presenter Boyko Vassilev commented that the audience today is different, social networks have divided people into different echo balloons who do not talk to each other.

“Journalism should ask all the questions, without caring how the audience will evaluate it. A real journalist does not work for likes, his goal is to get as close as possible to the truth,” Vassilev said.

“The meaning of such an interview will be in the questions we would ask and in how we insist on getting an answer beyond what we ourselves would suggest as an answer. It is difficult to say which fact can be confirmed one hundred percent and which one. no, rather there are none at the moment, but facts that have been confirmed by very serious sources, and for which the official Russian position is the opposite, should be present strongly enough in such an interview so that the audience can realize “, said the journalist from BNT-Varna Svetlana Gancheva.

Journalist Toma Ivanov believes that there is nothing more normal than showing all points of view, there is nothing more normal than for journalists, especially from the public media, to be equally distant from all political, corporate and ideological influences and moods.

“There is nothing more normal than not mixing the commentary with the news, otherwise there is manipulation. Now I am surprised that 30 years after the democratic changes and journalism in Bulgaria, we return to the question of whether to show or not different points of view. It’s quite strange to me. We need to come to a place for discussion – and then maybe part of the audience will make their decision. This is a democratic approach, not to impose one or the other point of view, “he said. Ivanov.

“Right now in Bulgaria we are not just covering the war in Ukraine, there is a parallel war in Bulgaria. Now we have a hot hybrid war to leave NATO and come to power in a government loyal to Putin. And at the moment every journalist is a soldier , he fights in every war “, said the media expert and director of the” LIK “directorate in BTA, Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov.

“At the moment, I see that we are disguising as a hungry point the pro-Putin propaganda that is taking serious victims in the public consciousness, and we do not realize much about that. We will dawn outside the Euro-Atlantic environment,” the expert added.

Ivan Garelov, Ivan Bakalov, Olya Al-Ahmed and others also joined the discussion. The presenter was Victor Nikolaev.

Tonight in the resort of Sveti Vlas for the twelfth consecutive year the awards for television journalism are handed out.
