Recently, experts decided to ease the pangs of choosing Russian car enthusiasts and found out why the Skoda Kodiaq is better than the Volkswagen Tiguan or both of them in flight. First of all, they noted that the mid-size crossover from the Czech brand is an order of magnitude more expensive than its German competitor, namely – 1,539,000 – 3,278,000 million rubles compared to 1,619,000 – 2,769,000 million.
True, this is where the “catch from the manufacturer” lies, since the minimum configuration of the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan is absolutely identical in terms of technical equipment. Under the hood of the crossovers a gasoline 1.4-liter engine with a capacity of 125 horsepower is installed, which works in tandem with the “mechanics” and front-wheel drive. In turn, acceleration to the first “hundred” is 10.5 seconds, but the fuel consumption of cars is different.
Active 2018-2019 Skoda Kodiaq spends 8.4 liters in the city, 5.5 – on the highway and 6.6 – with a mixed driving cycle. As for the Volkswagen Tiguan, the “German” will spend 0.1 liters less on each item, which is significant in terms of economy.
However, experts still do not understand whether this price “warmed up” motorists to buy Skoda Kodiaq instead of Volkswagen Tiguan, or the “toad took” to pay about one hundred thousand for a more economical car.
As a result, they emphasized that the “Tiguan” ground clearance will be three millimeters higher than the “Kodiak” – 190 millimeters. And in general, many owners of the Czech crossover complain about the outdated appearance and low-quality finishing materials.
