Horses slow traffic on Belt Parkway in NYC – NBC New York (47)

NEW YORK – Drivers struggled Wednesday morning on the freeway Belt Parkway due to horses creating traffic.

Yes, horses.

This is because a trailer carrying horses overturned Wednesday morning on the west side near Coney Island Avenue which caused the temporary closure of several lanes. Although the animals were fine, they had to be removed from the trailer and off the road to the nearest exit.

The video on the Citizen app shows a woman in a horse riding gear walking calmly with several of the animals along the side of the road.

So far, the cause of the incident and if the traffic improved has not been released.
