JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Honda e which is electric car first Honda, successfully won the title best car German this year aka German Car of The Year 2021 in the annual event.
The status at the same time makes Honda e to be the only car Japan first to get the title of best car in Germany.
Not only that, this tiny electric car also won the New Energy category at the same event.

The best German car award is judged by a jury consisting of several journalists. Judges test and review the latest cars, ranking them according to usability, driving characteristics, market relevance and level of innovation.
The winners from five categories, namely the Compact category, the Premium category, the Luxury category, the New Energy category and the Performance category are then re-assessed to determine the overall winner.
Katsuhisa Okuda, CO & President of Honda Motor Europe said, the Honda e title as the first Japanese car to be awarded the German Car of the Year is a great honor for Honda.
“Honda e is a perfect example of a product with a unique design, featuring cutting-edge technology and smart and sophisticated connectivity to keep owners connected to everyday life. We are very grateful for this award,” said Okuda in Honda’s official statement on Saturday ( 28/11/2020).

Honda e was launched in early 2020 and immediately became a priority model in carrying out Honda’s commitment to electrify 100 mainstream European models by 2022.

Besides winning the German Car of the Year 2021, Honda e has also won several other awards in Europe, such as Autocar’s ‘Britain’s Best Car’ and ‘City / Small Car of the Year’ at the 2020 News International Motor Awards.
