Governor Hochul made the first direct trip from the Long Island Rail Road to Grand Central Station.
The test drive began early in the morning in Nassau County and was accompanied by MTA leaders who introduced him to the project.
The service to the public is expected to start next year, once the final details are finalized.
Upon her arrival, the governor spoke with the media and shared her impressions regarding the work.
