PFUNGSTADT – (revo). The principle of selection often means that the quality of a product increases. And even if the organizers of the evening sports festival in Pfungstadt would have liked to have allowed more than the 250 starters permitted by the Corona regulations on Wednesday, this resulted in a manageable, but all the more attractive athlete field. Even from abroad – Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland – participants had come, and also from all over Germany – Leipzig, Cologne, Uerdingen, Dortmund – starters came to compete especially on the running tracks.

The strongest results were over 800 meters. “I can’t remember that we ever had a run in which all of the starters stayed under 1:50 minutes,” said Gerald Hoffmann, the head of organization. Tom Elmer (LC Zurich, 1: 47.87) won two hundredths of a second ahead of third in the German Indoor Championships over 1500 meters, Marc Tortell (SSC Hanau-Rodenbach). Oskar Schwarzer (TV Groß-Gerau) finished fifth in this strong field in 1: 49.36 minutes.

In the women’s category, the German indoor champion of this year over 1500 and 3000 meters, Hanna Klein (LAV Tübingen), had to finish second in the German championships over this distance, Tanja Spill (LAV Uerdingen / Dormagen), in 2: 03.65 minutes, in 2: 02:38 minutes let go. Jana Becker (LG Wettenberg) reached the goal in fourth place: The U 16 youth ran the Hessian record in 2: 09.02 minutes in the W 14 and missed the German record by just two hundredths of a second. Over 1500 meters of the women, the German champion over 3000 meters obstacle, Elena Burkard (LG Northern Black Forest), clearly prevailed in 4: 09.40 minutes.

From a regional point of view, Dennis Hutterer ensured the best result: The decathlete from ASC Darmstadt stayed under 50 seconds for the first time over 400 meters and had the men’s race firmly under control in 49.66 seconds. In the male U18, Paul Hupperts (TSV Pfungstadt) won with the best time (52.95 seconds).

Men, 100 m: 2nd Niclas Trabitzsch (LG Biebesheim / Eschollbrücken / Crumstadt) 11.19. Male youth U 20, 100 m: 3rd Tim Peters (ASC Darmstadt) 11.78. Male youth U 18, 100 m: 2nd Alexander Kranitz (TSV Pfungstadt) 11.98. Seniors, M 50, shot put: 2nd Jan Tegtmeyer (FC Ueberau) 11.35. Discus throw: 1st Jan Tegtmeyer 35.35.
