Hernando Cevallos: Presidential vacancy motion is undemocratic and destabilizing

The Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallossaid tonight that the Announced presentation of a motion for presidential vacancy against President Pedro Castillo is an undemocratic and destabilizing attitude, and that would constitute a test balloon, to be carried forward later.

In an interview with Political Agenda, from Canal N, the holder of the Minsa He called on the political parties to respect the popular will, and to work in a coordinated manner between Congress and the Executive.

“It is an absolutely intolerant position and what Congresswoman (Patricia) Chirinos is raising is a trial balloon, because what they want afterwards is to really boost vacancies, because they can’t stand that a teacher, a humble guy, has won the elections“, he claimed.

Likewise, he pointed out that, if one speaks of productivity to judge the government, with that same criterion the work of Congress or other State institutions would also have to be evaluated, and if it is considered insufficient, proceed to close them, which he considered An atrocity”.

“One would have to have a minimum of respect for the popular will. After three months that the government of Professor Castillo assumes a vacancy, it is clearly an undemocratic, destabilizing position that has nothing to do with the interests of the country and with the crisis that we have today, and that we have to overcome together ” , he claimed.

PANDEMIC

On the other hand, the Minister of Health confirmed that almost three weeks ago there has been a increase in COVID-19 cases in the country, which in turn has generated an increase in the number of hospitalized patients and in ICU beds, but these indicators have not yet been considered a third wave.

“(This increase has occurred) in a moderate average of cases, it is not considered a volume for a third wave, but it generates an alarm in the health system, and we are taking all the forecasts we can to try to implement epidemiological fences , mass vaccination and molecular tests, and we are doing it throughout the country, especially in places with increases in cases, “he said.

In this regard, he said that in general, hospitalizations have increased by 30%, and the occupancy of ICU beds by 60%, especially in regions such as Piura, Lambayeque, Tacna, Lima and Callao, but still far from a collapse.

In that sense, he reported that there is concern that the end of the year holidays may increase cases, and for that reason it is that the vaccination card will be required from December 15 to all people who enter closed spaces, and a campaign will also be launched to promote vaccination in population groups that have resistance to immunization.
