From July 1, the mayors will again be able to authorize one-off events on their territory. To guide them, they will have an online tool, called “matrix” or “Covid event scan”.

This tool was developed by the Haute Ecole Grote Karl of Antwerp at the request of the events sector and clearly attracted the four ministers of tourism. It will be online from next Wednesday and will be accessible to event organizers and mayors who will make the final decision whether or not to authorize the event (village festival, flea market, fair, congress, etc.).
Experts are putting the finishing touches on this tool, but we were able to get to know the content in broad outline. It is in fact a questionnaire, spread over twenty generic themes. We ask, for example, whether the audience will be seated or standing, how long they will stay in place, whether the area allows for social distance, etc. Depending on the answers given, the organizer earns little or a lot of points. It takes 75 out of 100 to organize an event!
It also happens that it is withdrawn from it if, for example, it does not plan any management plan to ensure hygiene on the site of the event or if, another example which may lead to its final rating on the bulletin, it does not plan compulsory wearing of the mask in places where the public risks being too dense (in the changing rooms on arrival, in the toilets, etc.).
► here comment the computer matrix will distribute the points.
► It will be compulsory from 200 participants: here’s why.
