Health: frequent intimate relationships could delay menopause – LINFO.re

According to a British study, women who have frequent sex are going through menopause more slowly than those who have less.

Megan Arnot and Ruth Mace, scientists from University College London, conducted a study on the menopause. The British analyzed data from the examination of 3,000 women in the United States. These candidates, whose average age was 46, participated in this study, which lasted several decades, from 1996 and 1997.

As a result of this review, women who are sexually active would postmenopausal slower than those that are not. Having intimate relationships at least once a week would reduce a woman’s chances of being menopausal by 28% compared to those having at least once a month.

To explain the rapid arrival of the menopause in less sexually active women, British scientists have pointed out that: “If a woman has little or infrequent sex around the age of 40, her body will not receive the physical signals of a possible pregnancy”, reports 20 minutes.
