Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – The entry ban for groups for public places ordered by the city of Freiburg remains for the time being. The Freiburg Administrative Court has rejected an urgent request against the ban, as a court spokesman said on Thursday. According to the information, a man from North Rhine-Westphalia complained, who came to Freiburg for professional reasons and wanted to meet others there. The court considered this application inadmissible and rejected it. The ban, which has been in effect since Saturday and initially for two weeks, is classified as lawful.
Freiburg was the first major German city to issue such a ban a week ago. Groups in public spaces are prohibited. People are only allowed to travel in Freiburg on their own, in pairs or with the family. Paths to work, shopping and refueling as well as for auxiliary activities are allowed. After Freiburg, the state of Baden-Württemberg had also issued such a ban.
