Health and Wellness Webinar Series for All Defense Team Members

Over the next few months, the Global Health Management Team (EAP and Mental Health Teams) will be holding virtual presentations featuring renowned experts from a variety of fields including Addictions, Relationships, Finance , stress and resilience, mental health, as well as inclusion.

We invite you to join your military and civilian colleagues on the Defense Team and attend our monthly webinar series to explore a variety of health and wellness topics. As you do this, you will receive tools and resources that could help you navigate your way through life.

JANUARY 2021

The financial hangover after the holidays and fundraising basics

Participants will be able to acquire knowledge on:

  • This webinar is designed to provide tips for getting rid of holiday debt and fostering positive action so it’s never a problem again.
  • Participants will also learn about financing, including secured, unsecured, spousal, secondary and short term / high interest rate credit, as well as leasing versus buying a vehicle, mortgage loans and student loans.

Canada – Information Sessions on Employee Assistance Services (EAS) and the Canadian Forces Member Assistance Program (CFMAP)

Participants will be able to acquire knowledge on:

  • How to access psychological assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and be referred to mental health professionals;
  • confidentiality;
  • LifeSpeak, an online learning platform covering a wide range of topics including physical health such as emotional health, nutrition, finances, relationships, parenting, addictions, COVID-19 and much more!

Communicate with caution when feeling angry

Participants will be able to acquire knowledge on:

  • We are all frustrated, bored and sometimes even angry. It’s what we say or do at the time that can affect our relationships.
  • Participants will learn to effectively communicate your frustrations by focusing on the problem, not the person.
