Hanover Indians storm the Trappers fortress

Reading time: approx. 5 minutes

That was a blast. After the disastrous offensive performance on Friday, the Hanover Indians surprised in the Netherlands, winning for the first time in real terms against the Tilburg Trappers after nine defeats before. In doing so, they secured, presumably unintentionally, their local rival Hanover Scorpions second place in the Oberliga Nord.

They celebrated a shooting festival against the battered Limburgers, but couldn’t really get closer to Halle because they turned a 0: 3 into a 5: 3 in Krefeld. With that, the Indians overtook Leipzig’s corona-related game-free, and now, with two more games, they take fourth place with the same number of points. Hamburg has also only played 29 games and had to let Herner, who won the Ruhr derby, come close to one point on Sunday. Ten points behind Erfurt that the Herford defeat in Rostock used to overtake the HEV. The same game for tenth place. Essen lost and Rostock overtook the mosquitoes and is now back in tenth place.

Tilburg Trappers – Hannover Indians 4:5 (0:2, 3:1, 1:1, 0:1) n.V.

A real surprise. The Indians, whose offensive still failed on Friday in Mellendorf, suddenly showed that they are quite capable of keeping up with the top teams in the league, also away from home. After a balanced start, the game really started with Igor Bacek’s one-man show. The (still) 35-year-old Slovak overcame Ruud Leeuwesteijn twice, bringing his colors 2-0 up. The result: shocked Dutch people who had to save themselves in the cabin. It will have got a little louder there, because the Trappers came back with verve and in turn shocked the Indians with a triple blow. The Indians, especially keeper David Böttcher-Miserotti, had to cope with that, as this was only his second appearance since the beginning of December. And the guests came back mentally strengthened and turned the result, the 4: 3 falling shortly after the second third break. After the equalizer, both teams neutralized each other, went into overtime and here it was a nice combination over Gibbons and Strakhov that finally decided Jayden Schubert with his eighth goal of the season. Parker Bowles convinced the Indians with three assists, as well as Igor Bacek, Andrej Strakhov and Kyle Gibbons with two points and keeper David Böttcher-Miserotti. Max Hermens (3 points), Jordy Verkiel and Brett Bulmer convinced the strong but sometimes too impetuous hosts with two points each. The loser of the day was the second Trappers block, which didn’t get a point but went out of the plus / minus rating with minus 10.

Tore: 0:1 (11:46) Igor Bacek (Bowles, Böttcher Miserotti), 0:2 (15:46) Igor Bacek (Bowles, Hertel), 1:2 (20:33) Raymond van der Schuit (Hermens, Bulmer), 2:2 (24:29) Kevin Bruijsten (de Bonth, Bastings), 3:2 (25:13) Max Hermens (Verkiel, Bulmer), 3:3 (31:36) Nico Turnwald (Pohanka, Bowles ), 3:4 (40:43) Branislav Pohanka (Gibbons, Strakhov 5-3), 4:4 (42:57) Jordy Verkiel (Hermens, Bastings 5-4), 4:5 (61:07) Jayden Schubert (Strakhov, Gibbons)

Hannover Scorpions – EG Diez-Limburg 14:4 (5:0, 4:1, 5:3)

Open day in Mellendorf. After the austerity program on Friday, all locks were opened on Sunday and 18 goals were scored, 14 of them for the hosts. However, anyone who expected a flood of penalties was completely wrong. The referee duo Michael Fendt / Ali Soguksu had a peaceful evening and did not have to impose a penalty. For the Scorpions, who celebrated their biggest win since the 15: 1 against Preußen Berlin in February 2019, Tyler Gron, who scored three goals for the third time this season, got Mike Hammond, who scored three assists for the seventh time this season and Louis Trattner, who scored three goals for the first time in his career, five points each. Noureddine Bettahar showed the best performance with three assists for the brave Limburgers, who had just arrived with ten field players, and where all players except Wächtershäuser and Ketter were awarded points.

Tore: 1: 0 (04:22) Tyler Gron (Valery Trabucco, Pietsch), 2: 0 (07:43) Victor Knaub (Thomson, Kabitzky), 3: 0 (14:42) Julian Airich (Just, Kabitzky) , 4: 0 (15:56) Thomas Supis (Reiß, Just), 5: 0 (18:27) Andre Reiß (Supis, Airich), 6: 0 (27:46) Mike Hammond, 6: 1 (28: 04) Nico Lehtonen (Slaton, Bettahar), 7: 1 (29:32) Thomas Supis (Klöpper, Just), 8: 1 (32:40) Louis Trattner (Pietsch), 9: 1 (36:28) Tyler Gron (Valery Trabucco, Hammond), 9: 2 (41:13) Paul König (Bettahar), 10: 2 (41:25) Mike Hammond (Gron, Trattner), 11: 2 (41:51) Louis Trattner (Pietsch, Hammond), 11: 3 (42:05) David Lademann (Bettahar, Valenti), 12: 3 (44:27) Louis Trattner (Pietsch, Gron), 12: 4 (51:32) Henry Wellhausen (Krymskiy, Lehtonen) , 13: 4 (58:26) Andre Reiß (Klöpper, Airich), 14: 4 (59:16) Tyler Gron (Hammond, Trattner)

Krefelder EV U23 – Saale Bulls Hall 3: 5 (1: 0, 2: 2, 0: 3)

In the end, the clever guests came out on top, but before that, they had to pull themselves together in the end not to experience a blue miracle. In any case, the Krefeld offspring annoyed the championship leader, even took a 3-0 lead and was able to successfully defend this advantage for a full 23 minutes. Then the physically stronger Bulls took command. The best home player was Ty Kolle, while Tatu Vihavainen, Joonas Niemelä and Patrick Schmid were convincing among the guests.

Tore: 1: 0 (18:31) Ty Kolle (Mahkovec, Hauf 5-4), 2: 0 (20:24) Marcel Mahkovec (Maierhofer, Hauf), 3: 0 (26:29) Ty Kolle (Mahkovec, Hauf) Ehrich 5-3), 3: 1 (36:00) Niklas Hildebrand (Stas, Schmidt), 3: 2 (36:29) Joonas Niemelä (Halbauer, Angry), 3: 3 (49:39) Patrick Schmid (Angry) , Schütt 5-4), 3: 4 (56:09) Jannik Striepeke (Fomin, May), 3: 5 (59:04) Tatu Vihavainen (Niemelä, Valasek)

Herner EV Miners – Mosquitoes Essen 7: 1 (2: 0, 3: 1, 2: 0)

A superior success for the people of Herne, who returned the favor for the 2: 5 home defeat in the first round on October 17th. For the playful HEV cracks, Marcus Marsall, Alexander Komov and Denis Fominych were the best scorers with three points each. At Essener, in spite of the seven goals conceded, only Fabian Hegmann stood out, who was covered with 63 shots on goal and thus had an impressive 88.9 percent catch rate. It should also be mentioned that the Iserlohn loaner Marlon Polter made his first assist in the league in the 56th minute of the game on his 14th appearance.

Tore: 1: 0 (06:13) Kevin Orendorz (Peleikis, Marsall), 2: 0 (13:36) Marcus Marsall (Orendorz, Elten), 3: 0 (24:06) David Kirchhoff (Marsall, Komov), 3: 1 (25:38) Lukas Mannes (Zajic, Lamers), 4: 1 (32:34) Denis Fominych (Komov), 5: 1 (33:09) Alexander Komov (Elten, Fominych), 6: 1 ( 55:37) Dennis Swinnen (Polter, Ziolkowski), 7: 1 (59:48) Denis Fominych (Peleikis, Wilenius)

Rostock Piranhas – Herford EV 6: 2 (0: 1, 4: 0, 2: 1)

After four defeats, finally another victory, which was also clear and deserved. However, the Herford team showed that they were equal for a long time in the fair game with a total of only eight penalty minutes, but had the problem that their starting trio Rinke, Begovs, Biezaijs was canceled for a long time. Not so the contingent players at Rostock. Above all von Ungern-Sternberg shone again as a goalscorer and Maylan and Balla also showed their value for the REC with two scorer points each. Jesse Dudas even got three points for himself.

Goals: 0: 1 (06:26) Ralf Rinke (Begovs, Biezaijs), 1: 1 (20:59) Tom Pauker (Koopmann, Dudas), 2: 1 (29:11) Constantin Koopmann (Dudas, Pauker), 3: 1 (35:45) Florian Kraus (Balla, Dudas), 4: 1 (39:28) Mark Ledlin (Balla, Gerstung), 5: 1 (50:55) August von Ungern-Sternberg (Maylan, Morgan) , 6: 1 (58:04) August von Ungern-Sternberg (Maylan, Ladusch), 6: 2 (59:41) Quirin Stocker (Biezaijs, Reckers)

Black Dragons Erfurt – Hammer Eisbären 10: 1 (5: 1, 4: 0, 1: 0)

A clear thing for the Erfurters, who confirmed their claim to eighth place with the double-digit success. The main player in the encounter was front row striker Maurice Keil, who, like his teammate Louis Anders, recently scored four goals, with Keil even scoring all four in the first period. He improved his season record of three goals, scored on November 19th, 21st against the Scorpions, by one goal, and he improved from 65th to 48th in the scorer list. Thomas Schmid and Kyle Beach were also outstanding. Both even got five scorer points.

Goals: 1: 0 (00:23) Maurice Keil (Gerartz, Schmid), 2: 0 (05:28) Maurice Keil (Beach, Schmid 5-4), 2: 1 (06:01) Artyom Alexandrov (Limböck, Boy), 3: 1 (08:07) Maurice Keil (Schmid, Beach), 4: 1 (12:28) Maurice Keil (Gerartz, Beach), 5: 1 (15:36) Kyle Beach (Fischer, Schmid) , 6: 1 (25:16) Louis Anders (Wunderlich, Fischer), 7: 1 (26:55) Tobias Banach (Herrschaft, Gulda), 8: 1 (37:39) Andre Gerartz (Beach, Schmid), 9 : 1 (39:51) Sean Fischer (Bosas, Schüpping), 10: 1 (46:05) Felix Schümann (Fischer, Bosas)
