Gints Smukais presents the first single “Thaw” from the upcoming album “Thaw” and invites to the opening of the album on July 31 at the open-air concert “Thaw” on the floating stage in the lake, which can be watched from the shore, as well as in boats and on SUP boards .
In the first composition “Thaw” from the second Gints Smukas album “Thaw” / “Thaw” you can feel the sound of the second album and its mood.
“The composition came to me at an emotionally difficult stage in my life, when I was forced to announce less happy news to a close person.
Its musical message reveals that it is sometimes not easy to face reality, because forced reform does not always come to life with ease.
The composition’s remarkable rehearsal in rhythm and harmony, which reflects sleepless nights, circulating thoughts about the consequences and regret for what has not been said. And at the culmination of the composition, everything is said – the words become redundant, because the thaw occurs, ”announces Gints Smukais.
The second album of my life is a very special musical story. The presence of water in the album will play an important role, so I also chose a very beautiful place for the album presentation concert – Lake Raiskums, whose acoustics and sunset mood will give an unforgettable sound and enjoyment to every listener, ”informs Gints.
Guitarist Gints Smukais on July 31, at sunset, at 21:00 on the lake floating stage will present the sound of his second solo album “Thaw” / “Thaw”.
It will be possible to watch the concert not only from the ground, settling in the territory of the camping “Apaļkalns”, on the lawn of the lake on the chairs or blankets you have taken with you.
In turn, fans of a more active lifestyle will have the opportunity to listen to the concert from their boat or SUP board. Boats and boards will also be available for rent.
Gints Smukais met his first guitar in 2008 and 3 years later he had already started to study compositions in percussion style. Since then, he has regularly performed in concerts alone with his music and collaborated with well-known musicians in Latvia – Jānis Aišpurs, Jānis Stībelis, Annija Putniņa, “Latvian Voices”, Kristīne Prauliņa, Olga Rajecka.
