The hikers traveled along the seashore to St. Jacob’s way

Klaipėda District Tourism Information Center on April 27. invited everyone to join St. During the opening of the season of Jacob’s Way and to walk together with the Lithuanian “Camino Lituanos” community during the “Liethuva eina” walk.
On the mentioned day, about 100 participants of the hike gathered, who wanted to cover the section of the chosen route in Klaipėda district Nemirseta-Giruliai, to get to know St. Jacob’s Way and engage in an amazing experience. Karklė parish priest Mindaugas also took part in the march, who blessed and cheered the participants of “Lietuva eina”.
On the Nemirseta-Giruliai section of the route, excellent hiking trails led through coastal forests, the beauty of which was enhanced by the wonderful weather. After entering the Pajūris Regional Park, the participants of the hike could take a breather at Lake Plotios, a resting place for migratory birds, watch birds from the birdwatching house, familiarize themselves with the information on the stands, and see the Baltic Sea rippling on the horizon. Many were in this place for the first time.
Traveling further, the marchers reached the place where the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Karklė (Karklininkai) used to stand. Pastor Mindaugas of the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Karklė told about this church, its history and future plans to rebuild it.
Continuing along the marked tracks, the participants of the hike reached the only fishing village in Lithuania near the Baltic Sea – Karklė, and admired the uniqueness of this place, which has preserved its ethnographic distinctiveness.

The Klaipėda District Tourism Information Center invited the participants of the hike to take a breather in the courtyard of the Pajūris Regional Park visitor center. Here the hikers not only rested and had lunch, but also familiarized themselves with the exposition of the Pajūris Regional Park visitor center about amber hunting, fishing, etc. Mindaugas, the charismatic pastor of the Karklė Evangelical Lutheran Parish, presented the building of the visitor center of the Pajūris Regional Park as the place where services are now held.
The participants of the hike continued to enjoy the seaside, the forests, visited the cliff of Holland’s Hat, and at the Memel Nord Coastal Artillery Battery, they visited the museum exhibition and got to know the history of this unique military/cultural heritage site. The hikers covered about 13 kilometers per day.
