GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas got ray tracing thanks to the modification

Vice City and San Andreas are still very popular versions of Grand Theft Auto, which unfortunately, unlike some classics, have not aged so well, while fans are constantly asking Rockstar for remastering adventures of Tom Vercetti and CJ. The profession will be sweetened to some extent by the created modification that adds ray tracing effects to GTA 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas, which is used in more and more games. The modification is now available for download and, apart from the ray tracing function, no changes have been made to the graphic design of the cited productions, but there are other mods for that. However, if you would like to see what ray tracing looks like in such old projects, this is the right proposition.

GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas received a fan modification that adds ray tracing to games.

By the way, you can also see the operation of the mentioned option this time in Watch Dogs: Legion, about which we write more here. Returning to the modification, it is rather a slim chance that Rockstar will block its distribution. The fact that the studio or the publisher of the series like to conflict with players is known for a long time, and the perfect example is the fan trailer of the Grand Theft Auto remake: San Andreas, which was deleted some time ago. Although it caused a positive reception among the community, Take-Two did not like it, which applied for blocking it on YouTube. The material was to show how the game would look like on Unreal Engine 4, so it was not playable (the video was created on the basis of fan movies, i.e. the so-called machinim).

As for GTA: San Andreas, which is one of the most warmly remembered by fans of the brand, in October it celebrated the 16th anniversary of its premiere on PlayStation 2. Only later, or more precisely on June 7, 2005, the title also appeared on PC, but on PS2 a few months after its release the game was the best-selling item on the Sony console (statistics from March 2005 say about 12 million copies purchased by players. Overall, GTA: San Andreas was handed over to 27.11 million people by 2011. In the meantime, the game received a lot of modifications including the one that adds unofficial multiplayer mode.
