Bedrníková was already moving forward in the lead-in circuit and in the end she was not enough for just the great Mitterwallner and the Frenchwoman Olivia Onesti. Mitterwallner won by more than three and a quarter minutes, Bedrníková lost half a minute to silver.

“I’m experiencing incredible feelings. I felt very strong from the beginning, I was absolutely great in technology and in the hills. It was a very long and demanding race, but as I felt good, it was no problem for me.” Bedrníková praised herself at the finish.

Start from the third row and finish third in the finish

“Since the start, I tried not to overdo it, to go at my own pace and gradually get ahead. By starting from the third row, I couldn’t burn right from the start, but just by driving at my own pace and not solving the others, “I was doing so well all the time. Only in the very last lap did my opponent commute me there, it was really a bit, but I tried to go as best I could to keep the third place,” Bedrníková added.

The best among juniors Šulc

Šulc was two and a half minutes behind Lillelund among juniors, Jan Zatloukal finished fourteenth. Lillelund completed the race half a minute faster than his compatriot Oliver Solvhoj. They were joined on the podium by the American Bjorn Riley, who finished four seconds behind Solvhoj.

The second cross country race of the Women’s Under-23 World Cup will start at 1 pm in the Vysočina Arena. Men of the same age will enter the track two hours later.
