Graham Norton Reveals Traumatic Stabbing Incident in Interview with Telegraph Newspaper

In an interview with the Telegraph newspaper tells the well-known Irish talk show host and comedian Graham Norton about what he defines as the worst moment of his life. He was stabbed in 1989.

In front of the newspaper, 60-year-old Norton says that he lost half of his body’s blood in the incident, and found the whole thing traumatic.

Asked the nurse if he was going to die

Norton was around 26 years old when the incident took place. According to several media, he was attacked by a gang of boys.

The next morning he woke up in a hospital. He says that he remembers a nurse asking if they should contact someone for him. Then he thought the following:

“I don’t want to worry my parents, but if I die, they’ll probably come and say goodbye to me because they’d be annoyed if I didn’t tell them,” says Norton.

Furthermore, he remembers asking the nurse if he was going to die, and that he was met by a verbal pause before pointing out that “this is not a place for pauses”.
