Government deployed extensive traffic device in Tour El Salvador 2024 – Diario La Página – 2024-03-05 15:09:42

The Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez Herrera, together with the Vice Minister of Transportation, Nelson Reyes, held a press conference where they announced the transit device for carrying out the first route of the El Salvador 2024 Tour called Grand Prix Surf City El Savior.

“We will be making traffic restrictions to guarantee the development of the event, we will notify in time of alternative routes for drivers traveling through the areas. An attempt has been made to ensure that restrictions are not made during times of peak vehicular traffic, to cause the least inconvenience. And also that the restrictions will be in a short time,” Rodríguez commented.

The cycling tour began with the Grand Prix Surf City El Salvador that began from the National Palace in San Salvador, to La Libertad; tour in which temporary street closures are carried out in the urban area of ​​the Historic Center of San Salvador and accompaniment in the development of the event.

«This day, we are going to start with a route that starts from the National Palace towards the highway to Comalapa, old street to Zacatecoluca, makes a return and takes the Litoral highway to go to La Libertad. This would be the first route, on average they are around of 100 kilometers that the athletes will be doing,” reported Vice Minister Reyes.

To carry out this event, the Government deployed an extensive traffic facilitation device in each of the events to be held; In the Historic Center of San Salvador, a controlled street closure was carried out, so that athletes can move quickly; while, in the rest of the route, the group of athletes has the accompaniment of the National Civil Police (PNC).
