2022 – Los Angeles wig shop owner stabbed to death while trying to stop shoplifters, 2 suspected teenagers arrested – Magazine, Health

A Los Angeles wig shop owner was stabbed to death while trying to stop a thief in his shop.

Tommy Lee, an immigrant from South Korea, owned the downtown Los Angeles store for about 20 years before ending his life.

The attack occurred on Saturday afternoon when two 17-year-olds approached Lee and tried to rob him. Police said the teenagers brutally stabbed Lee.

Both suspects were arrested. His identity has not been released due to his age.

Davina Kangavari, the owner of the mall where Lee’s shop is located, saw the surveillance video of the deadly attack. The footage has not yet been released by the LAPD.

“You were looking at a wig. And then suddenly they left. Tommy was known for being tough and chasing thieves, ”Kangavari told FOX 11.

“He started chasing her around the mall, and then the guy pulled out a knife and stabbed him straight in the heart,” he continued.

Lee’s shop had been attacked multiple times by thieves before Saturday. His death is just the latest violent crime in Los Angeles County.

“I don’t think he ever imagined being killed for a wig,” Kangavari said.

Kangavari was also asked what he had to say to the shopkeeper’s attackers.

“Shame on you,” he said at the outlet. “Life thrown away for a wig.”
