Görger wins in Pforzheim – athletics

The cross-country skier from Freiburg is ready for the DM.

(m/BZ). Markus Görger (LG Region Karlsruhe), who lives in Freiburg, left a strong impression at the Sparkasse cross-country race in Pforzheim. The student vice world champion confidently won the men’s long-distance race over 8,880 meters. Halfway through the race, last year’s winner had a clear lead over Jens Mergenthaler (SV Winnenden) and Patrick Karl (TV Ochsenfurth). In the end, Görger won with a time of 31:51 minutes, clearly ahead of Karl (32:40) and Mergenthaler (32:44) – excellent preparation for the German cross-country championships on November 26 in Löningen.

In the women’s race, LAC Freiburg’s Céline Kaiser ran a strong race over 6600 meters and finished second in 27:58.26 minutes. Clara Möll (LG Region Karlsruhe) from Emmendingen finished seventh in the U 23 women’s youth team (31:07.76). Lino Paradelo from SV Waldkirch took fourth place in the U 18 men’s youth team over 4400 meters (18:13.17). LC Breisgau’s Raphael Dumm won the fun class over 3300 meters (13:59.05). In the sprint races over 500 metres, Simon Arnold (LAC Freiburg, Youth U 20) was able to take second place in 68.14 seconds and Nils Rohrer (LAC) in fourth place. In the men’s open class over 6600 meters, Kirchzarten’s Daniel Kiefer finished sixth in 28:09.55 minutes.
