Go Sport stores closed sanctions on Russian companies Sportmaster

– On April 26, Go Sport Polska Sp. z o. o. has been subject to economic sanctions, which means that from today until further notice, the operation of all 25 brick-and-mortar stores and an online store are suspended – informs Wirtualnemedia.pl, the marketing department of Go Sport Polska. The company’s website has been completely disabled. According to “Puls Biznesu”, cooperation with the company has been suspended over 90 percent. service providers and suppliers.

The Go Sport chain of stores had a French owner until 2019, after which – as indicated in the governmental announcement from Monday – was taken over by the Singaporean company Sportmaster Operations PTE, “whose real beneficiaries are people of Russian origin, including the oligarch Nikolay Fartushnyak, Vladimir Fartushnyak and Alexander Mikhalskiywho are co-founders of one of Russia’s largest sports chain, Sportmaster. ” In February last year Ukraine has imposed sanctions on Sportmaster Operations PTE.

– Due to the market position occupied by Sportmaster in the Russian Federation (Russian Federation – ed.) And the income earned the entity is a significant payer of taxes supporting the Russian budget – it was stated in the announcement – The imposition of sanctions on the company Go Sport Polska Sp. z o. o. will contribute to the reduction of the company’s revenues, and thus indirectly reduce the revenues of the budget of the Russian Federation, from which the aggression against Ukraine is financed – added.

The Go Sport Polska company was taken over all four types of sanctionswhich include:

– the freezing of all funds and economic resources,
– prohibition of making available to the listed entity or on its behalf – directly or indirectly – any funds or economic resources,
– prohibition of knowingly and intentionally participating in activities the purpose or effect of which is to circumvent the measures indicated in the first two points,
– exclusion from a public procurement or competition award procedure.

Go Sport Polska put up for sale. He already has a buyer

The marketing department of Go Sport reminds that the owners of the company decided on March 3 decision to sell Go Sport Polska in order to ensure the continuity of employment of an international team working in the country. Immediately after Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the network was criticized for its links with Russian capital, and the cooperation agreement with the brand was suspended by the Big Picture agency.

In mid-April Sports Direct (belongs to the Frasers Group capital group) submitted an application for consent to the takeover of Go Sport Polskawith 13 sports stores in 10 cities in our country.
