Originally meteor Rain it is named “Finlay-id” after the name of its parent object. This naming is reminiscent of the Draconid meteor shower which was originally named the Giancobinid, after the name of its discoverer.
However, the latest confirmation of observations shows that the meteor shower emerged from the constellation Ara, a constellation in the southern sky that lies between the constellations Centaurus, the horseman and Lupus, the wolf.
